Join Robert Buchsbaum, author of the Appalachian Mountain Club's Best Day Hikes in the White Mountains for a lecture about how this book came to be and to share his fondness for this special place in our own backyard. He recently completed the fourth edition of this work and has spent many days hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, exploring its wonderful vistas and natural history. The book contains 60 hikes, ranging from easy strolls around peaceful ponds to rigorous hikes to alpine summits. The book also contains 15 essays that describe the unique plants, animals, geology, and human history of the region.
Robert Buchsbaum recently retired after 32 years as a Conservation Scientist with Mass Audubon. He lives in Beverly, Massachusetts with his wife Nancy, enjoys walks in the forest and along the shore, birding and identifying plants, and playing guitar.
