Children's book writer Virginia Lee Burton won the 1943 Caldecott Medal for The Little House. She created the world of Mike Mulligan and told the tale of Katy and the Big Snow. In addition to her stories and illustrations Burton was a textile artist and a founding member of Gloucester's Folly Cove Designers. Barb Fecteau has been enthralled with The Little House her entire life. Come share her appreciation for Burton’s life and work and enjoy the legacy of this local legend. Barb Fecteau is the librarian at Beverly High School, teaches in the library media program at Salem State University, and reads more children's literature than is probably good for her.

Monday Mornings is sponsored by the Friends of the Beverly Public Library.

Registration for this event has now closed.
