Find out what birds need and how native plants and physical structure can provide safe and comfortable spaces for them, even through the cold winter months. Dr. Martha Gach is an ecologist and evolutionary biologist who teaches a wide variety of nature topics for Mass Audubon. She founded the Field Naturalist Certificate Program and was Regional Education Manager for Central Massachusetts. Martha has been the Sanctuary Ecologist at Worcester’s Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary, where she created and maintained landscapes for people, birds and other wildlife. Now living in southern Maine, she appreciates how Nature weaves together infinite details to run the world in which we live.
