Expressive Art Therapy Program: Intuitive Painting
Thursday, September 307:00—8:30 PMSohier RoomMain Library32 Essex Street, Beverly, MA, 01915
In this workshop, you will learn some basic painting skills using the Spanish arts concept, El Duende, describing the authentic artist block which can bring forth emotional vibrancy. The canvas acts as a vehicle for exploration through sequential layering of art materials, such as paint and found objects, enabling ongoing self-reflexivity through aesthetic attunement and intuition. The three main activities are included: spontaneous painting, reflective processing, and aesthetically focused attention to imagery. The engagement comes from prompts that are generated by the facilitator. The goal is to allow you to tune into your own creative process while releasing your attachment to the final product and to trust your inner artist. All materials are provided. Registration required.
Masks are REQUIRED for all. Questions? Contact Lisa Ryan at ryan@noblenet.org
