Following up the success of books like Fly Girls, Paradise Falls, and Charlie Hustle, which married deep investigative journalism with compelling storytelling, Keith O'Brien returns this year with a look at one of New England's most beloved figures: Larry Bird. His brand-new Heartland, which drops on March 3, looks specifically at Bird's time Indiana State University, where Bird brought an unknown basketball program all the way to the national title game, for one of the most-watched basketball games of all time. 

O'Brien will be in conversation with Sam Pfeifle, Book Shop of Beverly Farms co-owner and life-long Celtics fan, and they'll talk about the phenomenon the Bird became — and how it almost never happened at all. Books will be available for purchase.
